It depends. If you are only signing petitions, you don't need to create an account. However, if you are creating petitions for other users to sign, in other words, you are a petition author, then you need to create a user account first.

When users sign your petition, they provide first names, last names, countries, cities, comments, signatures, optional email addresses and personal photos. You can download all information except signatures, email addresses, and signer photos for free. Though we trust all petition authors to be genuine and with good intentions, we believe cautious procedures are needed to ensure that all signatures and other signer information are used for the right purposes. Thus we charge $10 for the download of comprehensive signers information. The purpose of this charge is twofold. First, we use this proceeds to continuously improve our service. Second, we will have a record of who gets what signature list and can trace back to the petition author if any wrong-doings were discovered.

Yes. However, we suggest that you only download the list once in a while because the list might get extremely long and not only requires significant amount of time to download it but also slows down our service to other users.

We do not handle donation to petitions through our website. You can directly contact the petition author for donation consideration. However, we urge you to exercise extreme caution before making any donation. In rare cases, if strongly requested by our users, we might act as a conduit between you and the petition authors. In such case, we will take every measure to ensure that the petition is genuine before passing along your donation (less any transaction fees) to the petition author.

Some petitions are time-critical, that is, signatures have to be submitted by a certain date. For example, a petition to the International Olympic Committee for a city to host 2020's Olympic game needs to collect and submit signatures before the decision is made. For such petition, once the critical date has passed, it will be moved to the Expired category and users will not be able to sign the petition anymore.
