The outbreak and fast spread of H1N1 flu, or swine flu, has greatly impacted the order of our society. As of April 30, 2009, WHO has declared a level 5 outbreak, the second-highest on its threat scale, indicating a pandemic could be imminent.
Traditional ways of vaccine production against this rare disease might not be effective, and at the same time it takes relatively long time (4-6 months) to produce. We urge the government to consider every possible way for vaccine production, including Novavax's virus-like particles (VLP) technology. Using this method, a vaccine for the H1N1 virus could be in production in 10 to 12 weeks, which could mean a difference in hundreds of thousands of lives should a pandemic really occur.

Interesting how the government's response to this was so quick to say 'pandemic'. Could they have been planning for this? Remember the bird flu 'pandemic'? This is more of a distraction that anything else to divert attention away from Obama's blunders. sign that petition people!
